three folders and open paperwork and a penThe government is looking to strengthen the standards and conduct framework for local authorities, the consultation seeks views on introducing a mandatory minimum code of conduct and measures to strengthen the standards and conduct regime to ensure consistency of approach amongst councils investigating serious breaches of their member codes of conduct, including the introduction of the power of suspension. The consultation will last for 10 weeks from 18 December 2024 to 26 February 2025

Local Audit Reform Consultation

person using calculatorThe government is looking to transform the local audit system, recommendations include bringing as many functions as possible into one body, a new Local Audit Office. The consultation will last for six weeks from Wednesday 18 December 2024, to Wednesday 29 January 2025.

20mph Speed Limit Trials

20mph speed limit signThe proposal for a 20mph zone in Beeford has been chosen for the trial and will be implemented in 2025/2026. The area proposed is on the Main Street, from the Playground to Rectory Lane, which is considered to be a main danger area and includes the entrance and exit from the GPs Surgery, the Chapel, the Community Centre, the School and Play School. Before making any decisions, East Riding of Yorkshire Council are keen to hear your views on this proposal.

D-Day 80 Commemoration

The bells were rang at St Leaonards Church at 6:30pm followed by a D-Day 80 Commemoration Service by Rev. Shirley Hebdon, with a memer fo the school 6th form contrbuting by reading poens. Refreshments were served in the Church and was followed by a walk to the Playing Field to watch the lighting of the beacon.

Safe and Sound Grant
